The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) is the leading professional body for securities, investment, wealth and financial planning professionals. Formed in 1992 by London Stock Exchange practitioners, it has a global community of circa 45,000 members in over 100 countries and in 2019 more than 40,000 CISI exams were sat in 81 countries, 15,000 taken outside the UK. The CISI believes professionalism is a combination of knowledge, skills and behaviours and its purpose is to develop and uphold the highest standards of ethics both in the UK and around the world.

The Challenge

The main challenge which CISI faced was that its members were not fully utilising the members benefits which were on offer as they were not easily accessible, relevant or known brands. With such a large membership and affiliate base, the benefits did not engage the members as usage remained very low and uptake did not soar. CISI wanted a membership benefits programme where they could offer something different to what its previous Benefits provider had provided, a new membership benefits scheme in which its members would take advantage of and enjoy the savings and privileges as part of their membership.

The Solution

Xexec created a bespoke branded platform for CISI members with access to over 3,000 exclusive savings and discounts at some of the most well-known high street retailers and brands. These offers include discounts at all major supermarkets, department stores, technology brands, cinemas, health and wellbeing, travel and much more. Xexec designed a wide range of communications showcasing the increased discounts, the multiple e-vouchers they had on offer as well as the ease of having real cashback in terms of monetary pounds.

The Outcome

The membership benefits platform has been a huge success. It has enhanced the CISI Benefits offering and has increased member engagement, as well as has saved members on an annual basis approximately £10,000. The most popular discounts being Curry’s, John Lewis, adidas, Argos, Apple, Tesco and Sainsbury’s. As not all of CISI’s members are based within the UK, there is now a need for some international offers and benefits to be included in the overall offering. New retails and vendors are continuously being added and thus, the privilege package remains unique and something of real value to all members involved.
